dc.description.abstractSpelling ability is to enhance the ability of the respondents to accurately write the letters the words. The researchers observed that the Grade III pupils have difficulties in spelling which was validated through the results of the pre-test. Specifically, they aimed to answer the questions: (1) What is the ability of the respondents in the pre-test? ; (2) What is the level of spelling ability of the respondents in the post-test? ; (3) Is there a significant difference of the results of the respondents in the pre-test and post-test? ; and (4) Is there a significant relationship of the results of respondents in the pre-test and post-test? The researchers used pre-test and post-test in gathering data. Results showed that the respondents rated good after Direct Instruction strategy was used. Moreover, there is a significant difference between the scores of the pupils in the pre-test and post-test. Researchers found out the direct instruction strategy could enhance the spelling ability of the Grade III Pupils.
