| dc.description.abstract | Initial studies on the use of imported garlic as planting material have been a failure. The use of cold storage or vernalization before planting is a possible solution to more bulbing of imported garlic. Hence, this study on vernalization duration for commercial garlic production was conducted from October 5, 2015 to February 4, 2016 at Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union. Results revealed that garlic subjected to 70 days vernalization before planting significantly produced higher yield (6,065.32 kg/ha) and garlic subjected to 40 days vernalization produced the highest net income (Php/ha 425,781.60) when compared to plants subjected to other treatments. | |
