Abstract
The study aimed to determine the growth, yield, net income and Benefit Cost
Ratio of mustard planted between three months old guayabano plantation as affected by spacing and the growth of guayabano during the conduct of the study at the Agroforestry Nursery, DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from December 5, 2015 to January 5, 2016.
The study was laid out following the Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications and three treatments.
The treatments are as follows:
T1 - 10 cm x 40 cm
T2 - 20 cm x 40 cm
T3 - 30 cm x 40 cm
Results of the study revealed that the spacing of 10cm x 40cm and 30cm x 40cm had the same final height of 31.75 cm while a spacing of 20cm x 40cm had 31.00 cm. On the final number of leaves produced, mustard plants planted at a spacing of 10cm x 40cm had the most number of 7.60 leaves and the least number of leaves were the mustard planted at a spacing of 30cm x 40cm. The highest weight of mustard per hill, per plot and per ha; net income per plot and per ha. Treatment 1- 10cm x 40cm registered the highest
benefit-cost ratio with a mean of 1.33. Guyabano obtained a height increment of 0.35m, crown diameter increment of 0.20m and stem diameter increment of 0.24cm.
