Abstract
The demand of safe and healthy feeds and a healthy environment calls for
organic production technologies especially in reducing use of chemical fertilizer. Hence,
this study was conducted to determine the effects of rates of vermicompost with
supplement on the growth and yield of yellow corn and it was conducted at the
Experimental Field of the DMMMSU-NLUC, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from
October 25, 2013 to February 08, 2014 following the Randomized Complete Block
Design (RCBD) in three blocks.
Plants applied with 4kg vermicompost per linear meter or applied with 50%
BSR + 2kg vermicompost supplemented with either Bio-N inoculation or Crop Giant
spray performed comparably with those applied of BSR (150-30-0kg/ha) in terms of
growth but performed better in terms of yield.
