Abstract only
The researchers created a compact mechanized mulberry leaf puncher which prepares mulberry leaves because manual methods need too much labor and time while current machines fail to deliver specific leaf sizes for different silkworm instars. The puncher uses locally sourced materials to deliver an effective solution which small-scale silkworm producers can easily access. The machine assessment used three measurements which included cut precision and cutting efficiency and cost-return analysis. The puncher provides an efficient method for preparing silkworm feed through its integration of new mechanical technologies with traditional agricultural methods which enhance productivity while reducing operational expenses.
