Gender and development significantly impact women's roles in chip processing enterprises. This study focused on women's important role in the chip industry while considering how gender and development influence their participation. Data were gathered through personal interviews with 31 respondents from 10 municipalities in La Union, provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Local Government Units (LGUs) of La Union. The findings revealed that women's roles in agri-based food processing enterprises, specifically in the chips industry, are extremely significant in production activities, marketing, goal-setting, rule implementation, financing, human resource organization, and alternative analysis. However, women face serious barriers, including difficulty adapting to new technologies, limited access to technology resources, and balancing family responsibilities. The GAD action plan emphasizes women's vital roles and recommends training, resource access, support systems, and policy advocacy to address these challenges effectively.
