Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the demographic profile and management practices of native chicken raisers in the Five Municipalities of the First District of La Union, and characterize the morphological feature of native chicken raised. It was conducted from November 2014 to February 2015. Majority of respondents raised hen, rooster, pullets, cockerel and chicks. The morphological characteristics of the native chickens raised were red, white earlobe and its combination, a single comb type, plumage color of talisayen, and with yellow shank color. More than half of the respondents raised native chicken in a range system with simple shed. In feeding management, majority of the raisers fed their native chicken with self- prepared feeds. The number one problem met was occurrence of disease.
