dc.description.abstractCracked sweet sorghum grains is a potential source of feed for broilers as feed extender for it contains 11.30% protein. This study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with different levels of cracked sweet sorghum grains (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) as feed extender and to determine the profit above feed, medicine, and stock cost of broilers fed with cracked sweet sorghum grains. This was conducted at the Poultry Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from October 22, 2010 to November 25, 2010. A total of 75 heads of 14 days-old broiler chicks were distributed at random into five treatments following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Based on the result of the study, broilers fed with different levels from 5%–20% of cracked sweet sorghum grains as feed extender comparably performed with those fed with pure broiler starter mash in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
