Abstract
A study on pottery industry in San Juan, La Union reveals that majority of the
respondents were 45 years old, female, married and high school graduate with a household size of four. Majority of potter’s business establishments were not registered. They were into this business for 6 years with an average monthly income of P7, 059.00, with two workers employed, the business were established through inheritance and started for the reason that there’s an abundance of raw material. Peak sales are on the months of October to December and low sales on April to September with flowering pot as the most saleable product. Majority of them markets their products on a daily basis by displaying it along the highway with a pricing base on their production costs and cash basis as their mode of payment. Moreover, the problem that was considered to be very serious is the lack of adequate capital, whereas, high market fees, high competition and low selling price are categorized as very serious problems.
