Abstract
Presence of drone honeybees is one of the requirements in the production of quality queens and so researchers were looking for a solution in order to have drones anytime of the year. This study was conducted to determine the effects of soybean, mungbean and pigeon pea as pollen supplement for the production of drones. Twelve 7 framer colonies were used in the study which were distributed into four treatments following the RCBD in three blocks. Results of the study showed that honeybees on the experimental colonies highly consumed and had accepted the supplemented pollen patties (soybean, mungbean, and pigeon pea seeds); however, these supplements did not affect the number of frames produced, brood frames, behavior of the honeybees, and in the production of drones.
