This study analyzed the perceived communicative behavior of DMMMSU-NLUC English majors (BAEL and BSED-English) in various contexts using the socio-cultural perspective. Specifically, it answered the following questions: (1) How do English majors perceive the way they communicate in various contexts?; (2) How do socio-cultural factors affect English majors’ perceived communicative behavior in various contexts?; (3)What are the recommended strategies that lead to English majors’ effective communication in the classroom and in various contexts? Focus Group Discussion was used to gather data from 12 English majors. The answers were recorded, transcribed, translated and thematically analyzed. The major themes that emerged are: (a) Verbal and Non-Verbal Communicative Behavior and (b) Socio-cultural factors that affect their perceived communicative behavior. Based on the responses of the participants, the researchers were also able to develop (c) recommended strategies that lead to effective communication in the classroom and in various contexts.
