Abstract
The Degree Program Recommender using Collaborative Filtering Algorithm is a machine learning approach that recommends degree programs to incoming college students based Oil their grades. Collaborative Filtering is a popular algorithm used in recommender systems to suggest items based on the preferences of similar users. III this case, it is used to recommend degree programs to students who have similar grades. Neighborhood Selection is an essential step in this algorithm, where a subset of similar students, called a neighborhood, is selected to make recommendations. The selection process involves finding students with similar grades to the target student. The system then uses the grades of the neighborhood to recommend degree programs that match the target student's academic performance and abilities. The Degree Program Recommender using Collaborative Filtering Algorithm and Neighborhood Selection can help students make informed decisions about their academic careers. By considering a student's grades, the system call recommend degree programs that alien with the student's interests and academic abilities, increasing the likelihood of success and satisfaction.
