Abstract
This study aimed to design and develop a microcontroller-based peanut dryer to address the challenges of traditional sun-drying in the Philippines, where unpredictable weather and high humidity often result in inefficient drying and reduced peanut quality. A prototype dryer was constructed to control heat and airflow, regulated by sensors, to ensure consistent drying conditions. The system was constructed using locally available materials, integrating controlled heat and airflow regulated by sensors to ensure consistent drying conditions. The system was evaluated based on drying efficiency, moisture reduction, and temperature stability. Results demonstrated that the dryer effectively reduced moisture content within a short period while maintaining stable temperature levels. The developed peanut dryer provides a practical and efficient solution for small-scale farmers by improving drying consistency, minimizing post-harvest losses, and enhancing the overall peanut quality.
