dc.description.abstractMaintaining sanitation in wet markets is important because food products are sold in this. The study conducted to determine the sanitation practices in the wet markets of the second district of La Union. Descriptive survey method of research was used in gathering data through questionnaires, supplemented by personal observations and interviews. There were 250 respondents in the study, selected through stratified random sampling, from the nine (9) wet markets of municipalities in the second district of La Union. The data were analyzed and interpreted using frequency counts, percentages and means. Results revealed that vendors are very much aware on sanitation practices employed in the public markets and are fully adopting it. However, there are problems encountered in the adoption of sanitation practices in the second district of La Union.
