The high demand for quality banana planting materials has been met through tissue-culture. However, the resulting seedlings from the laboratory are very small that need nursery establishment before outplanting them to the fields. This study was conducted to determine the best rate of vermicompost as potting medium on the growth and development of banana seedlings var. Lakatan at lowest cost, employing the Randomized Complete Block Design, replicated three times. The experiment was conducted at the Banana Project, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from July 4, 2008 to September 2008. The treatments used were as follows: T₁-Ordinary Garden Soil (OGS) T₂-25% vermicompost + 75% Ordinary Garden Soil (OGS) T₃-50% vermicompost + 50% Ordinary Garden Soil (OGS) T₄-75% vermicompost + 25% Ordinary Garden Soil (OGS) T₅-100% vermicompost
