Water spinach or kangkong is a potential source of nutrients needed by broilers, hence the need to explore the effects of the different levels (5%, 10%, and 15%) of kangkong meal as feed substitute on the performance of broilers at Barangay Pandan, Bacnotan, La Union, from December 18, 2009 to January 8, 2010. Sixty (60) broiler chicks at 14 days-old were randomly distributed to the different treatments following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks. Result of the study revealed that the birds fed with different levels of kangkong meal from 5-15% performed comparably with the birds fed with commercial ration in terms of feed, medicine and stock cost. However, birds in rations with different levels of kangkong meal consumed significantly more feeds.
