Abstract
High cost of feed is the major problem encountered by poultry raisers. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the performance of broilers supplemented with varying levels of lactic acid bacteria serum (20 ml, 40 ml and 60 ml) on the drinking water. This was conducted at Casiaman, Bacnotan La Union from November 26, 2014 to December 30, 2014.
Using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), a total of seventy five day old chicks were randomly distributed into five treatments with three blocks.
The result of the study revealed that performance of broilers supplemented with 20 ml to 60 ml lactic acid bacteria serum on their drinking water were comparable to the performance of birds without lactic acid bacteria serum on their drinking water in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion, profit above feed medicine and stock cost, and cost of feed to produce a kilogram gain.
