dc.description.abstractAs traditional medicine Curcuma domestica or turmeric has been extensively used for centuries. This study was conducted to determine the effect of different levels of turmeric meal (2%, 4%, and 6%) on the performance of piglets and to determine the profit above feed, medicine and stock cost of piglets fed with different levels of turmeric meal. Thirty-seven (37) suckling piglets were used in the study and were randomly distributed employing Completely Randomized Design (CRD) at the Piggery Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from September 28, 2010 to January 01, 2011. Results showed no significant differences in the final weight, feed consumption, and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost. However, the gain in weight and feed conversion ratio of the piglets were significantly affected by the different levels of turmeric meal.
