Abstract
This study evaluated the awareness and perception level of faculty, staff, and students in DMMMSU-NLUC on animal wildlife conservation. This paper analyzed the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, the level of awareness and perception of animal wildlife conservation, problems encountered, and the perceived solutions by faculty, staff, and students in animal wildlife conservation. Results were analyzed using frequency counts, rank, and percentage. In this study, 123 faculty members, 36 non- teaching staff, and 347 students from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC) participated in the survey. Results showed that 60% of the respondents are female and almost 90% reside in the Province of La Union. It was also observed that the respondents have greater perception towards animal wildlife conservation. Moreover, the lack of information-education campaigns is the most common problem the respondents encounter in animal wildlife conservation. Strengthening the information-education campaigns is perceived to be the best solution to address the issues of animal wildlife conservation. It is recommended that an information-education campaign should be done in the university to forge greater awareness and positive perception towards animal wildlife conservation.
