The use of chemical insecticide is very costly and causes harmful effects on humans and on the environment, hence botanical insecticides could be a source of more environmental-friendly insecticides. Diamondback moth is the key insect pest that devastate cabbage and other brassicas hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of various prepared botanical insecticides and to determine the most effective botanical insecticides as alternative to chemical insecticides against cabbage diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella L.). An area of 110.25 sq.m was laid out employing the Randomized Complete Block Design having 7 treatments with 3 replications. This study was conducted from September 01, 2021 to January 15, 2022 at Arosip, Bacnotan, La Union. The different treatments were as follows: T0 – Control, T1 - Chemical insecticide, T2 - Neem leaves extract, T3 - Hot chili fruit extract, T4 - Kakawate Leaves extract, T5 - Citronella leaves extract, T6 - Lantana leaves extract. The study revealed that neem spray and chemical insecticide were found comparably effective to reduce DBM population count from 20 DAT up to 60 DAT. Neem and chemical insecticide were also found comparable from 20 DAT up to 60 DAT in terms of the degree of damage which was rated clear to slight. Hot chili spray caused 70 percent larval mortality as per bioassay test. Cabbage plants sprayed with neem and chemical insecticide had comparable high yield of 10, 833.33kg/ha and 9,500 kg/ha. Keywords: bioassay, botanical insecticide, cabbage, chemical insecticide, diamondback moth,
