Abstract
An undervoltage condition in electrical systems can lead to equipment malfunction, reduced efficiency, and potential damage to sensitive devices. This study presents the design and development of a microcontroller based undervoltage alarm system that provides real-time monitoring and protection against voltage drops. The system utilizes a voltage sensing circuit to continuously measure the supply voltage, which is then processed by a microcontroller to determine whether it falls below a predefined threshold. The microcontroller continuously monitors the incoming voltage and compares it against the set threshold value. Once the voltage falls below 198 V, the system immediately activates an alarm mechanism, such as a buzzer or visual indicator, to notify users of the abnormal condition. The system is designed to ensure fast response time, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining ease of implementation. The developed system is suitable for residential and small-scale industrial applications where stable voltage is critical. Testing and evaluation show that the system reliably detects undervoltage conditions and responds promptly, thereby helping prevent potential damage to electrical devices and improving overall power system safety.
