Abstract
This study was specifically to: 1. Evaluate the demographic characteristics of Basi processors; 2. Basi Enterprise profile 3. Determine the production and marketing practices of Basi processors; 4. Measure the profitability 5. Determine the problems encountered by Basi processor. Complete enumeration technique was employed. The data were gathered through interview with the aid of survey questionnaire from the 50 respondents. Findings revealed that the respondents had an average of 43 years old, and are mostly male, married and with formal education. Majority of the enterprises are not registered, and most of them are engage in business between 6–7 years. An average number of 3 workers are employed in the production. Majority (44%) of the respondents have 6–7 years experience in processing basi and has an average income of P 10,550.37 among all the respondents. An average of 3 workers is employed by the producers. Processor buys directly their raw materials to the suppliers and sold these to their own residencies. Majority (58%) of the respondents price their product basing on the production price. The average weighted mean was 2.7 rated moderately serious. The only serious problems rated by the respondents were high competition and unfair sellers.
