Abstract
This study was conducted specifically to determine the profile yellow corn producers; farm profile; production and marketing practices; and problems encountered by yellow corn producers. Complete enumeration technique was employed. The data were gathered through interview with the aid of survey questionnaire from 100 respondents. Results indicated that the yellow corn farmers are in the average of 50 years old, mostly married males with 4 children. Most of them (53%) had high school graduated and few had graduated college. Majority (63%) owned the land they cultivated with 0.66 hectare average land area. Monocropping was the common farming practice ad employed an average of 4 workers and most of them harvested in t month of February. Contract buyers dominated the market outlets. Yellow corn sold on kilo basis. That low price and low production were perceived “very serious” problem. Likewise, “no government support” was classified as “serious” problem.
