Abstract
The study aimed to design, fabricate, and evaluate the performance of hammer type sea salt crushing machine. The performance of the machine is evaluated in terms of crushing efficiency, crushing capacity, and fineness modulus.
The experimental research design was employed in the study. The treatments used were three rotational speed levels of hammer blade at 1026 rpm, 924rpm, and 817 rpm.
The three treatments are replicated 3 times having a total of 27 experimental units. The data gathered were analyzed using Analysis of Variance in Completely Randomized Resign to test the significant difference among the treatments.
Results revealed that there are no significant differences among the three
treatments in terms of crushing efficiency and crushing capacity. In crushing efficiency, Treatment 3 has the highest efficiency of 95.85. Moreover, in terms of crushing capacity, Treatment 1 has the largest capacity of 405.01 kg/hour. Meanwhile, in terms of fineness modulus, Treatment 2 has the fineness modulus of 2.45.
