Abstract
Waterfalls are one of the most popular ecotourism destinations. In this study, the Payegpeg falls in the Municipality of San Emilio, Ilocos Sur was assessed as a potential ecotourism destination. Descriptive research design through survey method was used in gathering data through questionnaires, supplemented by interviews and personal observation. There are 42 respondents of the study, wherein 35 households of Barangay Kalumsing and 7 administrators were selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed and interpreted using frequency counts, percentages and means. Results revealed that Payegpeg falls, which is considered rich in natural attraction and with interesting and unique feature, is a potential ecotourism destination.
