Item English grammar competence of Filipino college freshmen(Journal of Positive School Psychology, 2022) Merza, Hartwell Norman M.Instructional materials on fundamental English grammar are required to develop English proficiency among first-year technology students. The study is organized around Dewey and Kolb's active learning theories and knowledge construction. This study aimed to ascertain the basic English grammar proficiency of first-year technology students at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University and to produce a worktext as an output. The researcher collected data for analysis using the descriptive method and a validated Achievement Test. The study discovered that the subjects were moderately competent in basic English grammar but excelled in the correct use of conjunctions, prepositions, possessive forms of nouns, and verb tenses; they were weak in the pronoun-antecedent relationship, noun pluralization, subject-verb agreement, adverb, and pronoun types, adjectives and adverbs order, and adjectives' degree of comparison. This mixed method approach seeks to determine the demographic profile, level of performance, and challenges of the 11 female barangay captains through a survey questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The findings revealed that most female barangay captains were in the 45-50 and 50-55 age brackets, married, attained a college education, and had a minimum of 1-5 years of political experience. It also revealed that the female barangay captains are outstanding in performing the executive, legislative, and judicial functions. It also found that the challenges of the female barangay captains are profile discrimination and difficulties, administrative adversities, poor satisfaction and public criticisms, and predicaments on fellow barangay officials. It serves as an alternative dispute resolution through non-litigious methods like mediation and arbitration to resolve conflict. It aimed to determine the distinctive practices and how the Kankana-ey Indigenous peoples cope with the challenges in the conduct of Tongtong. A qualitative approach was utilized. It was conducted in Arosip, Bacnotan, La Union, with 16 participants. The Kankana-ey Indigenous peoples of Arosip, Bacnotan, La Union exhibit a unique and highly practiced tongtong justice system, marked by distinct methodologies and punishments including abogadillo, panagtitinawar, mangmanmanok, panagkikinnomperensia, patod, inayan, ules, mantiban, aggabo, sapata, hot water ordeal, and putik. Further, the Kankana-ey Indigenous peoples have maintained their traditional dispute resolution practices despite the difficulties encountered by the traditional justice system. Utilizing a phenomenological approach, data were gathered through interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations to understand the impact of AI on teaching strategies and student engagement. The findings reveal that while AI tools enhance literature instruction by making texts more interactive and accessible, challenges such as technical issues and the digital divide persist. Teachers adapted their methods, blending traditional and AI-enhanced techniques to maintain critical thinking skills. The researchers applied principles and concepts from machine design formulas to develop the machine's design. The development research method was utilized in this analysis. The machine was manufactured, tested, and evaluated in San Fernando City, La Union. The primary beneficiaries of this study are farmers and seaweed (sargassum) growers. The machine was constructed using galvanized steel. A mixed method approach was utilized in this study. There were three hundred (300) respondents and five (5) key informants. Findings revealed the extent of political participation of the Bago Tribe garnering an overall mode of three (3) with a descriptive rating of moderate participation, which implies that the Bago Tribe are frequently participating in political activities; challenges faced by the Bago Tribe includes cultural discrimination, misconception of identity, and lack of cooperation and initiative. Finally, this study came up with a proposed Information Education Communication (IEC) material that will provide better understanding of the Bago Tribe's extent of political participation as well as incorporating the challenges faced by the tribe.
