Publication Taro (Colocasia macrorrhiza l.) corm meal as feed extender for Broilers(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2016-03) Lawagey, Rosana C.Due to the increasing cost of feeds, researchers are looking for cheap and locally available feedstuff to substitute commercial feeds. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with pure Broiler Starter Crumble (BSC) against those fed with different level of taro corm meal as feed extender. This was conducted from November 15 to December 20, 2015 at Barangay, Salincob, Bacnotan, La Union. Sixty, 14 day old broiler chicks were used in the study employing the (RCBD) in tree blocks with five birds per block. The results of the study showed that the performance of broilers fed with different levels of taro corm meal were comparable to those birds fed with pure broiler starter crumble in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
