Publication Mathematical proving skills and learning styles(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2024-05) Acosta, Alyssa Lei D.; Laceste, Jaymyr Mae N.; Moulic, John Vincent M.; Pascua, Via Rovey S.; Quelley, Marjorie V.Proving skills are fundamental to mathematical thinking andform a cornerstone in the realm of mathematics education. On the other hand, diverse approaches to learning or comprehending new knowledge are known as learning styles. A person's learning style is de/ermined by how they process, comprehend, communicate, and retain information. This paper explores the relationship between mathematical proving skills and learning styles among second-year students in Bachelor of Secondary Education. It identifies the levels of mathematical proving skills and common learning methods among students. The study examined the relationship between mathemat ical proving abilities and preferred learning styles using a descriptive correlational design, focusing on Spearman rho correlat ion. The study found no significant association between learning styles and mathematical proving skills. Moreover, the study put emphasis on the importance of understanding and addressing learning styles in mathematics education.
