Publication Cyber bullying(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2015-12) Aquino, Maricris V.; Daligdig, Prima Joyce M.; Dulay, Irene M.; Laron, Wendell L.; Sambrama, Jenny Rose O.Cyberbullying has become a significant issue for students as they interact increasingly through technology. There is also little evidence to inform policy makers in this area. This study aimed to determine the effects of cyber bullying to the academic performance of the BSCS students of the College of Computer Science. Specifically, it solved thefollowing problems: I) what are the different cases of cyber bullying, 2) what are the effects of cyber bullying to the academic performance of the BSCS students, 3) what intervention techniques can be recommended. The researchers used qualitative research in conducting the study. There were ten (10) participants in this study. An interview was conducted to the respondents to gather information. The findings of this study are as follows: most of the cases of cyber bullying are through phone calls, text messaging and social media; the effects of cyber bullying to the students include having a lower grade, slapping their subjects and not attending their class that cause them to drop and stop from schooling; and the most common intervention techniques on cyber bullying are ignoring cyber bullying, focusing on their studies and reporting to the authorities, such as to the guidance or their parents.
