Rates of vermicast and lactic acid bacteria serum tea on two varieties of mungbean
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2013-03) Supsup, Rodrigo Jr. L.
Organic farming is an eco-friendly farming system because its frequent use does not destroy the soil while vermicast and lactic acid bacteria serum improves plant health. Hence, a study on the performance of two varieties of mungbean (V1- PNRI Mg2 and V2- PSB Mg3 (NC) as affected by different rates of vermicast and LABS tea; (R0- no application; R1- recommended rate; R2- 1 liter per linear meter; R3- 2 liters per linear meter; R4- 3 liters per linear meter) employing the spit plot technique in RCBD factorial design was conducted at DMMMSU-NLUC, Experimental Farm from November 16, 2012 to February 2, 2013. Result of the study revealed that PSB Mg 3, the national check had significantly outyielded PSB Mg 2. On the other hand, regardless of rates of vermicast and lactic acid bacteria serum tea applied, the two varieties of mungbeans did not show any significant variations in terms of days to emergence, flower, maturity and plant height. There were no significant variations on the interaction between varieties and rates of vermicast and LABS tea in all parameters gathered.
