Students’ academic performance in solving physics problems using animated solutions
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2015-03) Sibayan, Shiela Marie B.
The performance of Filipino students in international assessments, especially in mathematics and science appeared below the standards. In particular, physics as one of the science subjects, remain one of the most difficult subjects in the school curriculum. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the academic performance of fourth year high school students in solving Physics problems by using animated solutions. The researcher utilized the true experimental design, specifically, the two group pretest-posttest control design. The respondents were selected fourth year students of San Fabian National High School. The statistical tools used were the frequency count, percentage, Pearson Product moment correlation coefficient, Spearman Brown prophecy formula, and t-test. The results showed that the experimental groups performed better than the control groups in their academic performance. It was also found out that there is no significant relationship between students’ academic performance and their level of motivation and profile.
