Arduino-based fire detection system with sms alert notification
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2023-04) Galleta, Jeric L.; Contaoi, Karen P.; Gagni, Christine O.; Serrnana, Ishmael N.; Sobrevilla, Ehrika Joyce P.
Fire detection systems help to decrease the potential consequences of fire before it can cause much damage. This study was conducted in order to attain its objectives: (1) to determine the functional and non-junctional requirements, (2) to design and construct the system using the prototype model, and (3) 10 evaluate the level of acceptability of the system in terms of functional stability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, and reliability. A descriptive research design was to determine the User Acceptance Testing through interview as a data gathering instrument, and a developmental research design for the development of the system. Different features were effectively integrated into the system based on the phase of the prototype model. For the functional requirements: temperature detection, smoke detection, and GSM Module for sending messages. For the non-functional requirements: performance, compatibility, reliability, and usability. The developed system was moderately acceptable with a 4.18 VA T instrument mean rating.
