(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus, 0012-12) Laguerta, Marice R.; Castillano, Corneil D.; Mil, Micole Ann R.; Santos, Aaron John; Casuga, Pauline Jean A.; Flores, Christian Kent E.; Quinitip, Tiffany Ruth R.; Ancheta, Marife D.; Bayani, Keneth G.; Siong, Venus D.
While the Philippines thrive to adopt e-governance to improve public service delivery through digital transformation, others struggle to realize and enjoy the benefits of the said transition, which results in digital divide-the gap between individuals who can easily access and utilize e-government services through the use of digital infrastructures and those who do not. Thisisacorrelationalquantitative study on the relationship between the sociodemographic profile of the households in the first class municipalities of La Union and the extent of digital divide. Data were generated through a researcher-assisted survey and analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, and correlational analysis. The findings revealed that low gap persists as to the availability and affordability of digital infrastructures while medium gap was observed as to the ability to access and utilize e-government services and in the realization of its outcomes and benefits. Therefore, bridging the gap should be prioritized to achieve inclusive and transformative progress.
