Publication Stenographers’ competencies in the trial courts of District II Municipalities Of La Union(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus, 2021-12) Sanchez, Anghel M.; Aricheta, Henschel Anne H.; Sobrepeña, Kimverly C.; Subala, Cresia May M.; Tolores, Rosevie May C.Competencies have been used as framework 1o help employee's behavior that drive success. Court stenographers are expected to have well-defined competencies to build aligned workforce and to meet the performance standard especially in their line of work. This paper determined the level of competencies of the Municipal Trial Court Stenographers in the Second District of La Union. Median was used to determine the competency level of the court stenographers. To identify the significant difference on the level of competencies as perceived by the Court Stenographer and as assessed by Clerk of Courts, Mann-Whitney U-Test was Utilized. The findings showed that the Municipal Trial Court Stenographers of District 2 in La Union are competent. Moreover, there is no significant difference on the result of competency level perceived by the Court Stenographers and competency level assessed by the Clerk of Courts.
