(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2011-03) Sabado, Liza G.
Due to high cost of feeds, researchers work on the use of possible food substitute for broilers such as sweet potato leaf meal. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with sweet potato leaf meal (5%, 10%, 15%). It was conducted from October 15, 2010 to November 18, 2010 at Poultry Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union employing the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks. Sixty broiler chicks at 14 days old were used in the study. Result of the study revealed that the birds fed with 5%, 10% and 15% levels of sweet potato leaf meal significantly reduced the final and gain in weight of birds and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost. However, the feed conversion ratio and the feed consumption were comparable with the birds fed control ration.
