Item Effects of personal tutoring on the learning performance of grade II pupils(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2016-03) Ronquillo, Jennilyn B.Personal Tutoring is a group or individual guidance given to pupils by the teacher, and is a great way to help children learn because it focuses support on children’s problem areas and gives them a welcome break for typical classroom situation. This study, which employed one-shot experimental design with one pretest and one posttest, was conducted primarily to determine the effects of personal tutoring in the learning performance of Grade I pupils of DMMMSU Elementary Laboratory School on the least mastered fundamental operations in Mathematics. It used frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, and paired -test as statistical tools. Results showed that after the intervention done, there was a marked increase in the performance of the tutored pupils on multiplication and division as seen in their scores in the posttest. This study proved that personal tutoring is effective in enhancing the learning performance of pupils.
