(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2012-03) Ngis-o, Johnny S.; Romero, John-John M.
This study aimed to develop an Extension Information System for Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University. Specifically, it aimed to determine the level of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency and security of the system. The study made use of the descriptive-developmental research design with the questionnaire, interview and observation as tools in gathering data and other relevant information. Further, Visual Basic 6.0 was used in developing the system and MS Access 2000 was used for data banking. The level of effectiveness of the system as to functionality, reliability usability, efficiency and security was measured by using frequency counts and weighted means. There were 20 respondents who participated in the assessment of Extension Information System, which included the Extension Director, Faculty Extensionists and the researchers' technical critic. The result of the evaluation showed that the developed system was highly functional, highly reliable, highly usable, highly efficient, and very highly secured. The researchers were able to design and develop an Extension Information System that can help computerize the manual procedures of the Office of Extension of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University to save time and minimize their time spent in processing office files and records.
