Contactless authentication and menu navigation using arduino and ultrasonic sensor
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2023-04) Mercado, Omar Gio H.; Ducusin, Maria Victoria Flor M.; Mamungay, Christian Jay L.; Miranda, Maribeth V.; Ramos, Pamela Angelie D.
During the CO VID-19 pandemic, contactless technology gained popularity as a necessary precautionary measure and a novel solution. This study aimed to develop Contactless Authentication and Menu Navigation using Arduino and an Ultrasonic Sensor. By employing descriptive and developmental research designs, the study successfully achieved its objectives. The first objective involved gathering functional requirements through participant interviews using a questionnaire. The construction of the prototype system was guided by a Prototype Model and incorporated Arduino and the Ultrasonic Sensor as its main features. Users utilized the sensor as a navigation and selection tool, programming it with Arduino Software IDE to operate the interface created with Visual Basic 6. Additionally, a thermal printer was used to print receipts. To evaluate the acceptability of the prototype system, the researchers employed the UTA UT questionnaire and obtained highly acceptable results from participants based 011 survey data.
