Dried poultry manure as feed extender for growing/finishing hogs

One possible way to reduce cost of producing finishing hog is through recycling of dried chicken manures as feedstuff. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the effects of Pure Commercial Feeds (T1) and Pure Commercial Feeds with 15% dried broiler manure (T2) on the performance of growing/finishing hogs. It was conducted at DMMMSU Piggery Project, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from October 9, to December 25, 2007. The data gathered were analyzed using T-test. Result of the study revealed that the pigs subjected to T1 and T2 showed comparable performance in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
