Publication Performance of different Sweet Potato cultivars under Santol, La Union condition during dry season planting(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2015-03) Oriente, Jenny O.Sweet potato is one of the priority staple food crops in our country. Sweet potato is one of the popular profitable cash crop after rice in Santol La Union. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the most adaptable sweet potato cultivars under Santol, La Union condition. Hence, this a field trial of the different sweet potato cultivars V1- NSIC 31-A,V2- NSIC 31,V3-Peniazuma,V4-Haponita and V5-Kimmarot, from November 21- February 24, 2015 during the dry season planting after rice. The Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four blocks was employed. Planting materials were terminal sweet potato cutting that are vigorous and approximately 30-35cm. long. The cuttings were planted with one cutting per hill, with a space of .30cm between hills and with a total of 52 plants per plot. Fertilization was done at 60 days after planting. Harvesting was done from 95-100 days after planting depending on the variety. Based from the research finding, the exotic variety Haponita was the most adaptable in the locality with a storage root yield of 6.83 kg/ha which was found comparable to the local native check variety Kimmarot.
