    Production and marketing practices of beekeepers in La Union
    (Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- North La Union Campus, 2024-05) Ordinado, Romelyn N.
    This study was conducted to: (a) present the sociodemographic profile of beekeepers in La Union, (b) to determine production and marketing practices, (c) their problems encountered, (d) priority needs of beekeepers and (e) the recommended plan. Majority of the beekeepers were married, 48-55 years of age, male and had completed college. In production practices most had their basic tools equipments. Most of the beekeepers uses market as their place of selling bee products, and most of them used advertising in facebook. Most of the beekeepers encountered problems, including occurrence of bee pests, as very serious problems in production, while in marketing practices they encountered strict quality requirements as serious problems. They prioritize their needs in terms of education training, and the management of pests and diseases , while on marketing practices the priority needs are packaging, promotion and distribution channels.
