    Leadership competencies and employees’ work engagement in the Municipality of Bangar, La Union

    Leadership competencies are skills and attributes that helps you become an effective leader. Work engagement describes the employees’ passion, commitment, and dedication that affects their job performance, satisfaction and success of the organization. This study aimed to determine the leadership competency and employee’s work engagement of the 120 LGU employees in the municipality of Bangar, La Union. The descriptive correlation was used as a research design, median type of average, 5-point Likert Scale and Spearman Rho Correlation Coefficient were used to analyze in the adapted survey questionnaire. The findings showed that the level of leadership competencies of the municipal mayor as perceived by the employees were very highly competent, while the level of work engagement of the employees revealed a very highly engaged result. The result of the study indicated that there is a significant relationship between the leadership competency and employee’s work engagement in the municipality of Bangar, La Union.
