    Production marketing of Sea Urchin farming in La Union

    This study was titled “Production Marketing of Sea Urchin in La Union”. It was conducted to determine (1) level of adaptation of technologies in sea urchin farming, (2) marketing practices of sea urchin, (3) socio-economic relationship of growers on production, (4) problems encountered by the growers; and (5) profitability of the sea garden project. One hundred growers served as respondents. Findings revealed that the growers were at their late 40’s married with 6 and above household members, and mostly high school graduates. Sea Garden project was taken as additional source of income supplemented by the Bureau of Fishery and Aquatic Resources. Climate change and stealing was the most serious problem which causes low productivity of the growers.Moreover, sea gardenersare following the recommended practices being implemented by the BFAR to evaluate the level of adaption of the project.
