    Banana peel meal as feed extender to growing pigs

    Banana peel meal was reported to influence the feed conversion efficiency of pigs. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the effect of banana peal meal on the performance of 10 growing crossbred pigs. It was conducted at Cadapli, Bangar, La Union from November 6 2008 to January 6, 2009. The data gathered were analyzed using t – test. Result of the study showed that the pigs fed with banana peel meal performed better in terms of feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost than the pigs fed with peel.
