(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus, 2017-01) Palis, Elaiza Erika A.; Asunto, Melanie S.; Balcita, Romina B.; Gacayan, Frences Dahl D.; Managbanag, Joan M.; Sales, Princess Joy M.
Fastfood chains, also known as quick service restaurants, greatly depend on its skilled manpower to deliver desired service quality, hence, a rigorous recruitment and selection process is practiced to achieve this end. Thus, this study endeavored to determine the sources of applicants, recruitment practices, and selection practices of fastfood chains in the City of San Fernando, La Union. This survey gathered data from managers and employees of the fastfood chains through a researcher-administered questionnaire, which were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean. Findings revealed that the respondent fastfood chains source applicants from former employees and job advertisement, recruit applicants using newspaper, television, webpage, and YouTube, and prefer personally submitted curriculum vitae. They conduct personality test and individual interview, check background, and reference, require chest x-ray, and send a text message to notify applicants.
