(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus, 2025-05) Cabueñas, Rogieley Joy C.; Abat, Shantale D.; Cariño, Mikko N.; Estigoy, Mark John D.; Madrid, Alma M.
Agriculture remains a crucial driver of economic growth, particularly in developing countries, where it serves as a primary source of income and economic activity. Additionally, rice is a staple food in many Asian countries, further emphasizing the importance of the agricultural sector. This study assessed the financial performance of Rice Retailing Businesses in the City of San Fernando, La Union, focusing on the relationship between business profile- such as registration status, capitalization, business size, years of operation, form of ownership, business location, and sources of inventory-and key financial indicators including revenue, liquidity, profitability, and leverage. Using a cross-sectional and correlational research design, data were collected from 38 Rice Retailing Businesses through survey questionnaires. Findings showed that capitalization significantly influenced revenue, liquidity, and leverage, while years of operation and business location affected profitability indicators. The study concludes that financial performance is mainly driven by capitalization, years of operation, and business location.
