(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State Univeristy - Mid La Union Campus, 2017-05) Par, Erick A.; Balanag, Bryan Karl S.; Domingsil, Kemberly M.; Mabanta, Harvey Nichols M.; Macato, Theresa B.; Refugia, Mark Anthony T.
The Iloko Code of La Union was enacted to preserve and promote Iloko and other native languages in the province. This study evaluated the compliance of the municipal governments in the second district of Im Union to the Code specifically in terms of publication of ordinances, resolutions and regulations, administration and public service, linguistic ability of staff and support to MTB-MLE and also determined the problems encountered. This descriptive research utilized questionnaire, document review, interview and observation from the 11 municipal governments which were analyzed using frequency and percentage. Result showed that within 4 years, municipal governments in the second district were not compliant. The lack of awareness to the existence of the Code and the lack of Iloko training had seen to he the major problem encountered.
