    Office competencies of barangay secretaries in District II Municipalities of La Union

    Office Competencies represent the efficiency and effectivity of barangay secretaries in workplaces. The knowledge and understanding of the essential skills are needed by a Barangay Secretary. This study intended to determine the relationship variables of barangay secretaries in District II Municipalities of La Union on office competency. The study aimed to assess the level of competencies of the respondents in terms of Information and Communication Technology Skills, Communication Skills and Records Management Skill as basis to developed a training design. The researchers employed a survey instrument as the data collection instrument in the descriptive study. Primary data were obtained through the administering of survey instrument to 162 respondents of barangay secretaries in District II Municipalities. The findings of the study showed that the respondents were very competent in terms of ICT Skills, Communication Skills, and Record Management Skills. The competence of the respondents in office competencies denied the concept of significant difference across the respondents’ profile. A training design were developed to upskill the barangay secretaries in terms of office competencies.
