Fire sensor and alarm system with RFID-based pax counter
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus, 2019-12) Dosono, Fema Joy T.; Galangco, Junelyn Pia D.; Garcia, Jamaica A.; Lanuzo, Emmanuel V. Jr.; Maala, Edenmar Kaila D.
One of the most dangerous conditions any structure may experience is fire effects and Philippines is one of the countries with the highest number of fire incidents that is why the researchers developed and constructed a Fire Sensor and Alarm System with RFID-Based Pax Counter device. This study aimed to help rescuers or fire fighters in determining the place of the fire incident and in planning for rescue. In case of massive fire, this study provides an alarm system alerting the occupants to evacuate the building. It also provides a monitoring system to track if there is still someone trapped inside a room. It will be of great help to the fire fighters or rescuers to determine the exact room where the fire has started and the man-power needed for the rescue. The researchers utilized a gas sensor, LCD, microcontroller, RFID card and reader and a Strobe light with siren for the study. An Arduino IDE was used for the creation of the program. The evaluation of the FSASRBPC along with technical efficiency and functionality was deemed excellent.
