    The profile, personality and musical instrument preference of the DMMMSU-SLUC college of education 4th year MAPEH majors

    This study intended to find out the Profile, Personality and Musical Instrument Preference of the DMMMSU-SLUCCollege of Education 4th year MAPEH majors. The study utilized descriptive correlational design and total enumeration sampling. The respondents composed of 32 MAPEH majors. Constructed questionnaire and Psychological Tests were used to gather data. Results of the study indicated majority of respondentsare female dominated, middle bom children with age ranging from 18 to 20 years old, with 5,2ยป height and whose parents are living together. They are interested with rhythm and blues, classical and pop music, with preference on the use of guitar, angklung and piano. They have high interpersonal multiple intelligence and with very high inclination towards professional jobs. They have tendencies toward depression, distrustful and aggression. Moreover, the personal profiles were correlated with the musical instruments preference with the type of music of the respondents. However, emotional profile is correlated with the musical instrument preference. Recommendations include creating opportunities that develop other areas of mUltiple intelligences like in mathematical, spatial and intrapersonal, conducting activities and seminars that cultivate the interest of students for a sound career decision-making and encouraging students to join activities, organizations that cater to musical development especially if they intend to take up MAPEH as major. Future researchers are to include other variables for study.
